This will be used locally for performance testing of various configs, and local dev work, and overall a testing box for biz apps that are READ heavy, and intensive.

Primary purpose is mysql (and percona testing) server that will receive bursts of writes from various other servers, and then numerous read requests too for analyzing the data, more reads than writes.

Temp. Case & PSU
Corsair 550D
Seasonic Platinum 880watt
(What I have on hand/used, rest of parts are new.)

Mobo:
-SUPERMICRO MBD-X10SRA-F-O ATX Server Motherboard LGA 2011 Intel C612

RAM:
-64gb RAM - 4x M393A2G40DB Samsung 16gb

CPU:
-Intel 6-Core E5-1650 v3 CPU

RAID Card
-LSI 9300 MegaRAID SAS 9361-8i (LSI00416) w/1gb cache
-cache/bbu unit

MySQL
Data Storage:
8x 480gb Intel 730 SSD (RAID10)
Log Files:
1x 480gb Intel 730 SSD

OS
CentOS - 480gb Intel 730 SSD

Eventually will add an Intel PCIE DC 3600 SSD drive or whatever is newer/equiv. at that time.

The rest of the parts should be here next week, already have some of the drives, case and PSU.

Pics, and test data will be updated in this thread.

Suggestions?
Your results?

ALways like to hear what people are doing with mysql servers for performance.

I'd like suggestions on a Full Size tower case that could accommodate my 10 SSD + 2 or so more SSD and then 4-10 3.5" HDs. I don't care if they're hot swap or not, and I don't mind stuffing SSD into positions or velcroing them in. Just need something bigger than what I have :D

Dev/Test Box #2 Ordered
-------------------------------------

Ended up building a web server box for apache/php usage for local dev/testing. Luckily I had a # of parts to use and/or sale to fund this one.

-- SUPERMICRO MBD-X10SLM-F-O uATX Server Motherboard
-- 32 GB ECC Kingston - DDR3 - : 4 x 8 GB - DIMM 240-pin - 1600 MHz / PC3-12800 - CL11 - 1.5 V - unbuffered
-- 2x Intel 128gb 850 Pro SSD for OS & Data
-- misc. SSD on-hand for logs & tmp (for performance testing only)
-- Corsair or Seasonic PSU (on hand)
-- Random ATX case on hand
-- Random CD/DVD drive on hand
-- Possibly some 3.5" drives for backup/storage purposes (on hand already spares)

I have some CPU intensive apps I'm working on improving performance and expanding. Should be perfect test environment :D
