I have a problem that now when I start windows xp, I get a quick bluescreen flash and my computer restarts. It does the same thing attempting to restart in safemode.

But when I select to 'start with last good config' it works fine. I want to go into Admin Tools, but when I go to start > run, I get "shortcut. windows cannot create a shortcut here." When I go to control panel, and then click it, nothing happens.

I've been meaning to reinstall windows since it turned crappy for no reason.

I've google'd around for hdd diagnostic programs, but none can find my hard drive. =\

I think I atleast want to know first what the bluescreen at the start is.

Right click My Computer, then left click Properties. Does that work? Then Advanced > Startup and Recovery Settings. Under Ssystem Failure, uncheck the box for Automatically restart.

Hopefully, the next time you get a blue screen it will stop and you can read the error information.
