Just wanted to share my overclocking results so far with my retail E6300 I bought from Frys along with a DS3, Corsair 1Gb(2x512)XMS 5400, and the Corsair Nautilus 500 External Water Cooling Kit.

First thing I did was flash the bios to F4E. Using stock HSF I was able to get to 3.2ghz prime stable for 1 hour with all default voltages  , however my temps were ski high 45-47 idle 60-63 load  .

Time to hook up the Nautilus 500. It was a snap (literally). Took me about 15-20 minutes and my temps dropped immediately 25-26 idle in bios. :D

My results so far:
E6300 @ 3.4 GHz (7x486) 1.33 volts :D
Gigabyte DS3 w/ F4 bios
Corsair XMS 5400@ 5-5-5-18
Corsair Nautilus 500
29-31c Idle 42-45 load.
GO stable for 5 hours and still running.
Will post some screen shots once I get home from work.

I'm sure I can push even more but my memory is holding me back. Gonna get these when I get the money: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820231065

I'm obviously extremely happy and pleased with my E6300 and would recommend it to anyone interested in Conroe. Just about all of them are extremely good oc'ers reaching 2.8-3.2 on air and the performance of these processors are just incredible. I'm coming from a X2 4400 trust me it’s a BIG difference. Very happy camper!

Yeah I know... Just didn't have the money and needed the cheapest DDR2 memory I could get. It was only $89 bucks. But yeah hopefully I'll have the money for the GSkill next month.

Home for lunch. Here's a screenshot running GO for 10 hours stable.

Going for 3.5 next! :p

Its amazing how memory prices have dropped in the last 4 weeks , not bad, i was thinking when will ddr2 see prices like ddr1 and its happening. I thought it would have at least taken a few more months.

Cool , good time ahead.

FYI...

Made it up to 3.6ghz at only 1.4 volts but my memory is seriously holding me back! :(
Anyone have 200 bucks I can have?

Hi Sifulee, can you please post your DS3 settings? i have the exact same gear except on the intel stock cooler...

Right now im at 3.00Ghz (429x7) with the CPU UNDERVOLTED to 1.30v (the mobo actually gives it 1.280 under load) in order to keep temps down as theyre reaching 61C in dual prime.

:D I love this thing...

Agreed, these proc's are just amazing!!! I made it up to 3.4 with just 1.325 volts but it wasn't stable. I'm sure it's the memory tho. Anyways you definitely want to look into water cooling if you want to get the best oc and stay kool at the same time. ;)

I'm at work right now and will post screens of bois when I get home.

Post your oc results in this thread if you don't mine.

damn it, my comp froze at about 30 mins into dual priming at 3.00Ghz.....no erros in SP2004..just freezing.

The problem is definitely not the CPU, but most likely my ram (only rated to run at 675Mhz..already running at 800mhz for 2.8Ghz).

Alternatively, it could be the N/B chipset gettting too hot....i can keep my finger on it for no more then 2-3 secs before it burns me...lol.

ill try to post some results later.....i have a human biology test 2morro at uni and its almost 11pm here in Perth.. :D

Yeah, I put a 4mm fan on the NB and it seemed to make a difference. I have that same memory running 972mhz@5.5.5.15 stable with no voltage increase, so it could be your memory.

I agree with you , its amazing cpu , makes me say that everyday.

This core 2 is bad ass. Made it up to 3.7ghz (7x529) @ 1.45 vcore but damn memory can't handle it.
