Alright, earlier this year I tried taking the plunge to watercooling, got myself a via aqua pump, BIX2 rad, a dtek whitewater block, 2 120mm fans (quad leds) and was incredibly disappointed at my 50C load temperature :S
having no time at the time to mess with it, I pulled it all apart in hopes that I hooked it up wrong and decided to wait until summer when I have more time to play with my money wasting techniques
Well, summer came.
I decided to get rid of the via aqua, and got myself a Swiftech 600gph rev2 pump (12v edition).
Got myself a fill and blid kit because it was a paint in the ass to fill it and bleed it last time and some new tubing.
A couple of things.
First time around, I used distilled water but with no hyperx/antifreeze/whatever else to kill baceria.
Should I be worried? I was thinking of flushing the BIX but aren't sure how, and the whitewater has a lucite top that seems to show white crap all over the water intakes. It doesn't seem to be dirt so I'm thinking it's just water that was evaporting and got caught by thelucite top because when I put more water in it it clears up. As an addendum, it's also important to note that my old tubing has utrned white on the inside, which is the main reason I got the new tubing, so perhaps it has something to do with the crpa in my waterblock
So my questions for today are as follows:
My main concern with the whitewater block was the amount of pressure the hoses were putting on it. I'm thinking of lenghtening the main output hose that splits into two and shortening the 2 hoses coming out of the Y-splitter such that they don't bend so much in my chenming case. Is there anything else I could do to reduce pressure on the nozzles and the block itself? I always had this feeling it was going to rip out of the socket even though it seemed secure
Right now my radiator is located at the bottom front of my case, and I'd prefer to keep it there. I have one fan at the front of the rad and one fan at the back (push-pulling) .
I'm curious as to whether anyone knows of some better configurations.
If someone has a chenming case and has setup a similar setup in their case, I'd be curious as to their tubing measurements as well.
I'll try and provide pictures later tonight or tomorrow for more clarification
edit: sorry if those post isn't very coherent, I was throwing out thoughts as they jumped into my head
