So about a year ago i made my first watercooling system (link) and that worked alright, but i didnt get that great of temps and the noise was umbearable. So i set out to build a new external enclosure all from scratch.

Heres what my computer looked like while i was working on the new case:

I figured that since i was going all out, i would need ot buy some modders mesh. This stuff is great, high quality and looks good.

While i was working on the case i figured i would give all the old tubes a nice cleaning, and i have to say this stuff works wonders.

When i finished setting up the box and getting the mounting holes in place, i went out and got the whole thing powder coated black.

I tried to glue the mesh on with some jb-weld, but i guess there wasnt enough surface area to hold it. So i just taped it on for now.

I came up with the idea to jbweld some locknuts to a space and then glue them to the top of the case so i could open and close the top with just a screwdriver. Which worked, but after a day, 2/4 fell off

I had to buy new fans because the sunons were too loud, so heres 1 of my m1a panaflos next to the old sunnon. Look at the size differnce

And then i dont know why i have this here, except i wanted to show you guys. I was comming home from school one day and i was about to open the door and i noticed something, then i realized it was a huge spider. At first i just thought it was a halloween decoration, but then i went to touch it and just before i did it jumped and scared the hell out of me. I guess this is a big thing for me because i have never seen a spider that big up close, and it was right on my front door.

How are your temps now, and how loud are each unit, and the total noise for both units? That looks totally great! I wish I had your setup :D :D Kudos!!
 
Finally someone replied!!!
I'm not so sure about the temps because i cant get a good reading off my dfi nf3 board with out flashing the bios and i havent gotten around to that.
The sound of the system is great, when i had the d4 hooked up i was going crazy but then i put in the d4 and all i hear is a little low pitched humming that i dont even noticed. So i am very happy with the results so far, now i just need to cut a window in the side of computer.

I particularly like the bulkhead fittings...are they quick connect?

Wow, so almost silent..That's great! I wish my PC was silent, but to start 2 ancient 20gbs HDs arent helping..

Anyways, very nicely done, and good job on the dye color on the coolant too; it's the little things that count :p
 
thank you for the comments i really appreciate it, but i have to say i had little to do with the dye the color came from a mix 90% water and 10% pentosin antifreeze.

Wow nice job. Those are some big tubes for hefty cooling :p I wouldnt mind hearing some temps either
 
ya i got 1/2in tubing because i always though 3/8... woudld be too small. as for the temps i've been having problems ever since i got this new mobo (dfi nf3 250gb), the thing reports idle temps of 60deg cel when i had my zalman on there which i know is way off because the asus board i had before this reported around 30deg with my same air cooling setup. I've looked around and i think theres a problem in reporting temps with this board and a newcastle processor. If you have any idea how to solve this, then i would appreciate it.

ya as i walked up to the door i thought i saw something in the corner of my eye and i looked over to see this huge ass spider. it sat so still that i thought it was one of my moms halloween decorations, because she really gets into that kind of stuff, so as i got closer i went to touch it and the thing jumped. I had never seen a spider this big in person before so i got my camera and then slowly pushed it off the wall, if my mom saw it she would probably have a heart attack. but ya that thing was huge, and it freaked me out.

well this probably should have taken a couple of months max, but it took me a year because there were many breaks and i worked in my spare time (school, friends...). I have to say the breaks did help because if i didnt have them i probably would have become impatient and made a lot of mistakes.
 
Very good work, and neat too. This is giving me ideas..... :) Oh and please we have spiders that eat spiders like that for dinner here :p (still big tho, hehe)
 
well you may have spiders that eat spiders, but this is the first time i've seen one up close and it was right next to me so it made me jump. by the way, what kind of spider would eat another spider? Also thanks for the comment.
 
It was a joke :) That one looks similar to a spider we have here called a Huntsman. Bite feels like a wasp sting and makes you a tad sick. Anyway, your mod has given me some very handy ideas, i'm about to make one quite similar to yours. Good work again :)

Shadow27: i wasnt sure, because there are some pretty big spiders out there... anyways make a worklog if you do build something so i can check it out :D.

thelostrican: I understand what you mean by things not liking things outside, but my case was small so i probably would have had my radiator on top of the case which i dont like... Also with the quick disconects setup i can take apart very easly so its kind of like it isnt seperate in that sense. Anyways thanks for the comments, there always good to hear.
 
yep, seeing a spider like that woulda freaked me out, I do not much care for spiders. The spiders in australia would really freak me out, especially like the funnel web spider, which I guess can bite through a leather boot and almost certaintly kill you? thats scary :)
