My memory divider isn't working

I have an AMD system with a Gigabyte GA M55S S3 motherboard I decided to overclock a bit. I have my FSB at 218 with a x16 multiplier. The problem is that my memory is now over it's speed limit as well whatever divider I use. From what I understand the mem divider is linked with the frequency of the processor (3.5Ghz) so a x11 divider should get me around 318 Mhz for my PC 5300 DDR2 modules. The only thing that seems to be affected by the divider is the NB frequency. I'm not really experienced with oc'ing so I thought I'd ask for some help. My CPU is a Phenom II 555 BE (Can't change the divider directly or the computer won't go into windows). Note my mobo is an AM2 model that was updated via the BIOS to support AM2+ processors, and in the process reduce the speed of the HT Link to 1Ghz if such a cpu is used (which is my case). Anyone?
 
instead use the cpu multiplier to overclock since it is a black edition processor. using the HT ref(FSB) clock doesn't really do anything performance wise like it would with intel's s775. but being that its an am2 board there shouldn't be anything on that board that can change the NB clock. so you may want to look at exactly what you are changing.

also double check the numbers with CPU-z if you haven't already done so.
 
Changing the multiplier is what I tried first. Only then the computer won't boot to windows. I'll try again.

I'm using CPU-Z and Easy Tune pro to monitor what's happening. Easy Tune allows me to change the memory ratio via windows but it won't stick.
