My design questions

Hi everyone, I have been thinking alot about water cooling lately.

My rigs specs:

AMD Athlon "Barton" 2000 over clocked to 1.67ghz
MSI KT6V Mobo
ATI Radeon 9200SE
74Gb Raptor
512 Megs of Kingston Ram

Right now my CPU is idling at 40-41C, and load is around 42-45C. I am using a Thermaltake SilentChill HSF w/ AS5. Those numbers really don't seem that bad, BUT I have 3 80MM exhaust fans(2 in the back and one on top) 2 intakes(120mm on side panel, 1 80mm intake). Lets just say it's loud. Very loud.

I plan on uprading to a nice AMD 64 in the future(1 or 2 months), so WC'ing seems like the next step.

I have done a lot of searching, reading of reviews, and such. Danger den seems like the place to get my CPU Water block. I understand I will have to buy a new water block when I upgrade to the A64 also. I plan to construct a seperate case for my WC'ing setup. I have a 2 chamber design that has the Fans/Heater core on the bottom, and has the Res, pump, and PSU on top.

I have a very crude mspaint diagram of my design. I apologise for it's uglyness :D.

I will have these controled by some sort of controller, and I will crank them all up for gaming, photoshop, video encoding ect. Turn them down for sufing and sleeping.

On the 120mm exhaust the 2 curved walls will act as a funnel to help draw more air. The bottom chamber will be sealed very well. After some further research I will use 2 120mm intakes instead of 3.

I will be using:

This pump

This Block

This res

This core

Does this look good?

I know I need tubing and water wetter but I didn't think it was needed to be shown.

Can anyone guesstimate Idle and possible load temps? I am shooting for around 38-39C load with fans at full tilt. Can anyone make any changes to the setup to help me reach that goal?

I am mostly asking if my box is worth it. ;)

Thank you very much in advance for any input. I hope to become a good contributing member to this forum.

Thanks again.

It looks good to me man, 38c-39c for the CPU should be a good guesstemante, i had an rbx block on two diffrent AMD's and was getting 38c, ambient case temp was 42c though and it was on its own loop. Good pump choice but if you decide something later go with the eheim maybe a 1250. Post some pics when your done

I will create a work log when I order all my parts. I was thinking about the 1250 but I am subject to change.

Again thanks for the input.
