I will post a worklog with my first WC build ever and perhaps even a few tests after my recent phone call with Dennis over at Dangerden.

Let me first state; getting into watercooling is nothing shy of a nightmare, everything is always out of stock, there are few reviews on the products, and the reviews can be very candid depending on a user's setup.

To start, this is my watercooling setup so far:
PA 120.3
Dtek Fuzion AND DD TDX
Custom DFI x38(more later)
DD 8800gtx block
Laing D5 fixed pump
Swiftec micro res.

This is where my experience with Dangerden comes in. Upon deciding that I would like the DFI x38 LT T2R motherboard, I ordered a dangerden MPC x38 chipset block as I couldn't find another company making an x38 block.

Guess what? The DFI board uses a completely different chipset mounting hardware than every other x38 motherboard. Needless to say DD was unaware and my x38 block didn't work.

I email Dangerden with a pretty nice email, I didn't demand anything, I just stated that I was unsure if I was sent an old x38 revision(how?) or if they were just unaware of the DFI motherboard.

Within a day I was physically on the phone with Dennis over at Dangerden.(That was on April 2, 2008)

Dennis was probably the nicest owner and representative I have ever talked to. I wasn't even mad about the situation as I knew from a friend that getting your feet wet for the first time is usually a long drawn out process.

Anyways, per our conversation he was extremely apologetic and ready to get to the solution. I was expecting that he would want me to send the mobo, or the heatsink to him along with my old x38 block to create a custom acrylic top, mount it and send it all back to me. Man was I wrong. He asked me if I could draw out how the block was configured for mounting holes and to find the offset. He would then custom make me another x38 block and mail it to me free of charge. MAN I was SOO HAPPY!

Its not over yet though.

After we got that settled, he asked me how he could repay me for my time and effort(wtf I just wanted a working block) and after arguing about it, we got to talking about my loop. I mentioned that I decided to go with a Dtek fuzion as it was proving to be top dog for flow and cooling with nozzles. He immideatly stopped me and told me that when he and his partner started DD they promised not to do negative advertising, but per their testing he assured me that the TDX should outperform the Dtek in my loop. So instead of offering me a discount on the TDX block, hes shipping me one to test out FOR FREE. He said if I liked it more than the fuzion, it would bring joy to him if I could share my findings with my forum of choice as he finds customers to be the best form of advertising.

Then I asked him if I made an order tonight, if they could put it in the same box. He questioned what I needed to order, which was 1/2" tubes. He did mentioned that Tygon is overpriced, but is the best tube, so he added 10 feet, FOR FREE AGAIN!

I feel bad because I shouldn't get this stuff for free as it is pricey, and the custom x38 block would have been enough, but I am EXTREMELY happy with the service I received tonight.

I feel almost like a product tester now as I will test the TDX and the Dtek and report my findings.

I hope you have been treated with the same compassion.

Although I still feel the Fuzion is going to be the better waterblock, I'm pretty excited! Will post pictures as soon as everything comes in!

Also, I've emailed him requesting his address as I wish to send my DFI's chipset heatsink to DangerDen so they can reconfigure the MPC-x38 block to accommodate this motherboard. It seems that it's the least I can do beyond explaining my joy with working with this company.
 
Dangerden and HWlabs are by far the best companies when it comes to customer service.

Swiftech is a close third though.

Very nice of DangerDen. I haven't seen a full on thermal review of the new MC-TDX, but it is the least restrictive and most free flowing block at the moment. Even more so than a Fuzion without a washer.
 
Well I think that's what Dennis was trying to say. In a single loop with mutliple blocks, even though my CPU temp might be +1-3C higher, he was sure that my northbridge and 8800gtx would be slightly cooler due to the first block being more free flowing.

We shall see how it works. I'm very pleased.

I hope a few more people read and post this before it sinks to the bottom.

Interesting... I'm going to be getting a Q6600 processor, so I'm assuming that if I went the DD route, I'd want the MC-TDX block, yeah? Like you, I was looking to get the DTEK Fuzion, but this thread may have just changed my mind. Looks like Dennis was right about word of mouth advertising. Heh...

MAZE5CPU for life... optimized for quad and running stable baby... tdx is ok.. if ur into that acrylic top stuff
 
After having physically in person met and have ate dinner and benched with the Danger Den guys, you are aobsoultely right, top notch guys all the way.
 
I have absolutely nothing to say about Danger Den but extremely positive things. They've been real good to me. Every time I need something, they're the first place I go.
 
That sounds great. I don't know about the whole TDX thing though, I have heard the even the new TDX still lags behind the D-Tek FuZion. >_>
 
Yeah Dennis is cool. He had a custom top made for my TDX when I was using it in a Shuttle project a few years back.

Totally free of charge... definitely stand up guys and company there. ;)
 
They are the reason I mod . . .an excellent watercooling company, wonderful sponsors, and great friends. They bend over backwards to help out their customers and have alot of pride while maintaining class. They respect other vendors and if someone brings up another waterblock company they find something good to say. It is too bad there are so many clowns who will post anti-DD stuff on forums just because they think DD has gotten too successful.
 
Never had the urge to go into watercooling, seems a bit too pricey for me as I'm not a number pushing enthusiast (hell I don't even game anymore), but this surely makes me want to start. Oh, and, Jeff over at BFG is an amazing rep as well :).
 
yep DD guys are great guys, and i get 99% of my stuff from them,, good people with good products and who tries their best for others is, and will always be who gets my money.. and trust me its been more than my wallet was willing to give sometimes for my adventures... Phil

ive got nothing but good things to say about them aswell, if ive ever had a problem its been sorted a piece of cake.

I had a good experience with DD in the last 2 weeks. I ordered the wrong case and let them know that the description should do a better job of noting the fact it does not have a 5.25" bay. Within a few hours the page for the case had highlight and clarified the lack of a 5.25" bay in the bullet point features list. Also, I let them know that my air cooler, that is of average height, does not fit in the case because the distance between the mobo tray and ceiling is not high enough. The descriptions for all their cases quickly had notes about how many inches of clearance are available from mobo to ceiling.

Awesome way to listen to the customers. I'll definitely be shopping there again, and recommending them any chance I get.

Definitely impressed.

Note there was not much I could do about these wires, as the PSU's wires wernt long enough to go anywhere besides straight through the case.
 
Ill start my review here, then post everything in a worklog when im complete.

First things first between the DTek and the MC-TDX. Their stock mounting systems are almost the same. To tell you the truth, I hate the stock mounting systems for both. I give a thumbs up to Dtek because the mounts come pre-built so you know how it looks together. Another plus to the Dtek is that the bottom of the column is a screw head, which is fixed to the screw. I like this vs the DD system of using a nut that can theoretically come undone while moving and assembling the block. Needless to say when I installed the x38 block, I used red loctite to the backside nut as it will no longer come off.

The plus to the MC-TDX is the Aluminum plate has all the Intel/AMD mounting holes on one piece, which is screwed into the MC-TDX which makes things a whole lot easier. The DTek is a little bit more fussy to install since you have to balance the pressure on the WB until you get it snug.

Lastly, and the main difference why Im liking the Dtek better so far is that since I knew I was only going to be using it for Intel platforms, I bought the pro-mount LGA775 kit. This kit makes the mounting much easier, as it uses a backplate. The mounting is exactly like a TRUE 120, minus the wiggle! Also I feel that with most water cooling pieces, a back plate should be used. As with high end, large air coolers, there is tremendous lateral force with the weight of the block, water, and tubing. I dont think 4x 1/8th inch wide screw heads is enough to hold it tight.

Edit: What Im using to cut the Tygon. They're PIMP. I bought them to effiecntly cut macroline for paintball guns. These are badass.

Thanks for posting this thread. All my W/C items have been through DD it has been well over a year since my purchase I'm getting ready to build and modify my current system and all I could see in the forum was how bad DD had gotten.

Glad to see that is not the case.
 
You're welcome, but this thread was created just to express my great feelings toward the company. As over 800 people have at least looked at this thread, I hope people consider DandgerDen as a source to buy many components. They do make profit off of everything they sell, and personally after this experience, I would rather have them get the profit, even off of tygon tubing, than another company.

Also, Dennis wasn't upset when I told him I was originally going to go with the DTek Fuzion, which surprised me. Most people are anti competition but he was actually for it. He even told me the Fuzion was a great block. He then proceeded to tell me that he still feels the MC-TDX is a better block and urged me to try it, even if the results were unfavorable. The reason why I created this thread was to show [H] if he was true or not. I will use the best one for a multi block system.

I'm not doing any theoretical tests based on flow rate, but simply which block gives me overall better temperatures across a multi block system. As stated in the WC sticky, high end air cooling is usually a better buy if the user is only WCing the CPU, but as we increase blocks, the benefit of water cooling shines.
