my computer won't boot up

I installed a fan controller and tried booting up. No Post screen, nothing so I tried taking it out... now my CPU fan spins up for like 1 second and then stops without the controller... still won't post..

what's going on?
 
mine did that when i installed a new Tt smart case fan. It wouldnt even post up. I opend the case and made sure everything is snug. Just reconnect everything and try it again. There has been instances where ive had to totally unplug everything and put it all back and wham, bootage. GL

note:( if your PSU is cheap, get a good one, you wont regret it, i even think people on [H] are selling good antec PSU's on the forsale/trade forum. GL )
 
Watch and make sure the fan is spinning in the PSU spins...also like mentioned re-check your connections or try depleteing the system completely of power and then retry it.
 
well it can still boots up but it won't post.. I can hear the HDD spin up and the mobo light is on.

The HDD light comes on and stays on steady. Yeah I have no video at all.
 
I think I might have fried my mobo. Both lights come on and stay on. Everything else works, the video card is fine, the HDD spins up, checked the ram, wasn't it.

The thing with the fan adapter was, it had to be connected to the PSU and the fan controller actually changed the speed of a fan that WASN'T hooked up to the fan controller. So what I am thinking is that it probably reduced the voltage of the entire PSU and could have damaged some components in the computer. Is that possible?

umm if it increased a fans speed it would have sent a voltage surge through the motherboard and likeley fried something very fast, look for swollen capacitors or anything then start looking for your warranty slips.

I checked out the capacitors and they all fine... Everything seems normal. the fan even works now... apparently they were connected to the wrong pins but still doesn't do anything.
