my new A64 system hopefully

i am currently running the system in my sig and although its pretty good ima do a mojor upgrade this summer.

heres what i want to get.
Athlon 64 3000+ Skt 754
MSI-K8T Neo-FSR Skt 754
The hercules 9800PRO in the HotDeals Forums
Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer Revision 3.

i will be keeping the RAM and HDD and opticals i ahve now(dvd burner and cd-rw)

any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

and please do not tell me to save up for better things because MY BUDGET(which includes making 4.40 an hour US at the skating rink where i live, but on july 11th my 16th birthday i go up to 5.25) will nto allow me to get anything better for i must save for a car and college.

Jesus man, get a better job...

The In and Out Burger up the street from me pays almost $10 to start. Hell, McDonald's doesn't even pay minimum wage any more.

but yeah, that system looks ok the way you have it configured. The 3000 isn't the best 64 chip AMD sells, but it should be plenty fast for the games that are on the market now.

he's only 15, he probably can't work long enough to justify minimum wage (by the law, it's restricted how much he can work).

If you were to give him any useful advice as per jobs, it would be to use his computer skills to freelance in his neighborhood as a techy :D.

At any rate, while I would recommend the 3200+ (added cache; it's cash for cache) over the 3000+, I recognise that there are restrictions on your budget. Have you taken into account selling old equipment ? Perhaps that will generate enough $$ so you can afford the 3200+...

wtf? 4.40 an hour!?

minimum wage here is $6.90 i think

lol 6.90 i wish!

i get paid 6.50 working at a grocery store..Its just summer work and very easy and thats all i can get lol.

i think min wage is like...5,45 or...65 maybe

up hear the major grocery stores start at $9.00 an hour for baggers and $10.00 for cashiers

Federal minimum wage in the US is like 5.75/hr right now. In Massachusetts, my home, it's 6.75/hr.

Anyway...good luck with the new system. Hope that A64 overclocks well for you.

well the rink is an easy job so its worth it. and i will be getting minimun wage on july 11th this year

i either have to vacuum, sit behind a snack bar, or skate in circles and yell at kids for brakin rules.

i was most definitly planning on overclocking the 3000+ i think that article is still on the front page.

and ill have a RADEON 9600PRO up for sale 100 bucks. that shoudl help me at least it will buy half of either the CPU new vid card or the new mobo.

maybe ill sell the old mobo and cup if i do im thinking like 300 to 350 i think i paid liek 400 or 450 for both of them new.

The performance difference between the 3000 and the 3200 is barely worth paying the added expense. Look at any benchmarks.

Comparing a 3000 and a 3400, however, that's different.
