Ok, I just bought an MX700 from a co-worker and I'm planning to replace the stock 1700mAh NiMH AA's. I want to use Lithium ion rechargables but I wanted to make sure that wasn't going to blow anything up.

What to you MX700 users run in yours?

The charger and mouse where designed only to work with 1.2v NiMH rechargables. DO NOT attempt to charge any other batteries than NiMH in the charger!

Just get a pair of 2200mAh NiMh batteries.

the 2200mAh are above the specs of the charger, but there are several people on here who use them. when mine when bad, i just went and got some rayovac rechargeables

I also had the same question when I got mine and I did some research. It says that don't put anything higher than 1900mAH batteries. But if other people use it on this forum. I guess it's fine and won't blow up. And I don't think the Lithium Ion would work.

Man, somebody needs to do a [H]ard mod on their charger to accept Lion and/or Lithium polymer batteries. The poly's would be sweet because they have a higher energy density and tend to be much lighter than their counterparts.

Oh, well. I'm going to use this thing for a while before I take a screwdriver to it. 2200mAh NiMH's it is.
