MX500 + KVM switch?

does anyone have an MX500 and a kvm switch? I can't configure my buttons when I use the mouse with the kvm switch, it recognizes it as an old mouse. I can still use the default buttons though. I can use back and forward, cruise control scrolling and the wheel. its not a usb kvm switch which is most likely the problem but I would like to use all of the features on the mouse.
