Heya. I just got a new MX1000 which is quite wonderful, and much better than my old MX700. Feels better, more responsive etc... Anyhow, I am wondering if I should connect it via USB, or PS/2 for maximum responsiveness and functionality? In addition, is it worth installing the SetPoint software? I don't like bloatware of any kind clogging up my RAM. I would like to be able to define the buttons and whatnot in games, but besides that I do not require all kinds of buttonmapping for everday browsing.

Any ideas?

PS/2, USB, works the same either way. You can't move the mouse fast enough to overwhelm the USB or PS/2 port.

I agree, I use to use PS/2, but now everything is usb...

I alsway use PS/2, never USB for the mouse.
USB always sees to have problems, in regards to response time and sensitivty, on several different PC's Compared to via PS/2.

Terra - BTW; good choice, just a MX1000 today too ;)
