What arrangement of inputs would be ideal on your 22 or 24 inch wide monitor??

2x DVI + VGA for legacy reasons.

What would rock is PIP with DVI + DVI

A pair each of DVI and HDMI inputs (HDCP on all 4), dual VGA, a pair of component inputs, 3-4 S-Video and composite connectors, and dual coax with tuners on each. I guess I'd want a Noah's Ark of inputs.

Well as mentioned in the other thread, nice if they are free. But how much is anyone actually will to pay for these?

In the interest of keeping cost down I would like 1 DVI-D and 1 VGA (or preferably DVI-I). This is all I really need. I would prefer the second connector be a DVI-I so it can be either DVI-D or VGA. Or Two DVI-D + one VGA which seems to be on the 2690.

Just to clarify the 2490 and 2690 have 1 - DVI-I, 1 - DVI-D, and 1 VGA

Excellent you could leave off the VGA and that would be all I want. Though a DVI-I to VGA cable in the box would be nice if you leave off the VGA.

1 DVI-D for the comptuer.
1 DVI-I for computer/legacy VGA/etc.

Bottom line: a good quality screen at a good price with the minimum of extras that put it out of range.

So I don't need/want S-video/composite/component etc... So cheaper price.
Ditto for all the expensive chips for 12 bit clut etc...

But I do want/will pay more for, a good screen (IPS) and decent ability to ramp the brightness down to a non painful level.

I bought and got rid of a Dell 2405 with 500 nits, that hurt my retinas. Even at zero brightness it still hurt my eyes and looked pretty bad to boot. Then they were the horrible viewing angles. Ugh! I hated this monitor for the two weeks I owned it.

We actually do all 3 inputs on the 90 series so you can do either 2 Digital or 2 analog at the same time.

You can actually do 3 at a time if you want 2 Digital 1 analog or 2 analog 1 digital. You cna just toggle between all 3 with the select key on the monitor.
