So I built this computer for a guy, a value level, bang for buck office job, with 2 dualhead video cards (guy day-trades). I get it up and running, little trouble but no biggie. Then the complaints start: Whenever he has a certain java ticker runing, he cant span it across many monitors. On one of the cards it turns into flashing colors and stripes. We tried all sorts of stuff, even a clean install with no other software....no dice.
he decided to just "f-it" since it worked flawlessly otherwise, and was playing with his firewalls, determining which ports to block. He blocked ports 81 and 82 (i think), and the damn thing worked! he unblocked, and it stopped!
WTF?
oh right:
-asus a8n
-2 different nvidia cards, dont remeber off the top of my head (5500 and 6600)?, will get info if needed. one was definitly pcie one might have been or just regular pci.
-xp pro.
