so i had a factory overclocked MSI 280 GTX and i was getting vertical lines so i went on MSI's website and they quickly gave me an RMA # this was on 3/5/10 so on the 8th i believe i shipped it to them

they received it on the 11th and since then I have been waiting, i called them and the guy told me it should be shipped by 26th but so far nothing shows on their website and i tried calling them yesterday and today and no one picks up the phone anymore.

anyone else have a bad experience with MSI? i think after this experience i will no longer buy msi products.

you have to realize that except for the evga advanced rma, which you pay in advance for, almost any rma is going to take 3 or 4 weeks. i know, there will be guys that rma'd their pcchips board and got it back in 2 days, or their asus sound card that they got back in 4 days, but these are only exceptions. just about any rma to a hardware company (as opposed to a retailer) will take around 1 month. and if you are only going to buy your hardware according to how good their warranty service is, you are going to be limited to mushkin and evga.

I RMAed a mobo through them. It was hassle-free. Turn-around in about 2 weeks...

Lucky for me I've never had an MSI product fail. I've only had good expereinces with evga (16 day RMA, shipping from PA to CA).

You could always do "dishonest" RMA. Buy it again at the same place, and send the dead one back in the box as DOA ;).

i purchased a P55GD80 and had to rma it cause the DRMOS failed it worked out pretty well they where a day off but i wasn't mad but when i received the other one it had the same defect so i just requested a refund from the egg and purchased a Asus Maximus 3 formula

asus/sapphire/visiontek all under 2 weeks turnaround time for me.
