MSI Neo2 Plat question

A guy I work with is looking at the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum mobo. Sloid board, and he is leaning toward this board.

However, he wants to know if a 3000+ 939 proc will run on this board.

Ya'll got any suggestions?
 
I recently set up my Neo2 with a Winchester 3200+. I had heard stories of a number of people having problems running dual channel memory with the Winchester cored 64's since the original bios wasn't recognizing the new chips. However, my Neo2 shipped with bios v1.2 and I was able to run dual channel without having to flash.

Overall the board was very stable at stock settings. Getting the SATA drives to recognize can sometimes be a problem even if you are only running one (not running RAID). I ended up loading the raid drivers on the disk and setting up a single drive as RAID, but I have heard of some having success with just using the windows SATA drivers.

As far as overclocking, this board needs some coaxing, but once you work some bugs out and play around with all the settings, you can get some pretty decent speed out of it.
