msi gtx 670 crashing help

my problem is that it has recently started to crash/restart computer whenever i play games for more than 20 minutes i think i need to flash the bios on the gpu but i have no idea how the msi live update has some sort of warning on the download page saying to only use it with msi mainboards so im stumped plz help my vga bios is 80.04.19.00.0B is this known to have problems etc? thx in advance

Crashing after a short period of time- sounds like you have an overheating issue. Watch your temps over time, and take a good hard look at the card's mounting.

If it is a heat issue, it means that the HSF is not properly mounted; you can either try remounting it yourself, or RMA it back to MSI for a replacement.
 
thx for the quick reply this only started like 3 weeks ago i just checked the k mark combined test leaderboard and someone with similar rig achived a similar score with 20 degrees lower so it must be that. i have the MSI N670GTX-PM2D2GD5/OC which looks like a bitch to open etc plus im not that confident that i could do it im going to contact the place i bought it in the morning thx for the help
