just got:
asus a7n8x-e deluxe
athlon xp 3000+
1g pc3200 ram

thinking about:
MSI MX440-T8X

going cheap on the video card cuz i don't play lots of games on the pc (got a console for that). will this card be decent for slightly older games (i'm not looking to play doom3 on it, but if it can at the lowest settings, great)? i just upgraded from a k62-450 with a tnt2 ultra so anything will be better... :)

Yes,*vomit*..it will be *another wave of vomit*...fine...blehhhehhehh

If you can find a Ti4200SE or Radeon 9100 in the same price range, you'll be better off.

Ignore what most people say about the GF4 440MX. The MX440-8x does just fine for light gaming use: http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20031229/index.html summary (benchmarks all in 1024x768x32):
UT2003 30.3fps (beats 9600SE)
BF1942 55.9fps (loses to almost everything)
CoD 39fps (beats 9600SE)
Q3TA 140.9fps (beats the Radeon 9500 and slower cards, including the 9600SE)
WCIII 37.9fps (beats 9600SE)
C&C 23.4 (loses to almost everything)
Halo 0fps
Nascar Thunder 2004 37.6fps (beats 9600SE)
X2 Rolling Demo 19.2fps (loses to almost everything)
Aquamark 3 10773 (loses to almost everything)

so vs the 9600SE, the 440SE-8x beats the 9600SE in 5 out of 8 game tests.
