I have a 966 meg mpeg that I want to put on cd's to view on my dvd player so is there a program that will allow me to spilt the mpeg in half?thanks!

I prefer TMPGEnc for working with mpegs. Much easier to use than Virtualdub. Free 30-day mpeg2 support as well.
Download and then go to file>mpeg tools>merge and cut>add the file>select edit>click on the { for the beginning of the file and } for the end>save>repeat for the second half. Let me know if you need more help. I use this program almost every day.

you do need to find the version with mpeg support as i recall for virtualdub but it is free (no trial thing)

oh man i used tmpenc to convert my avi file!lol!!!! Allright let me try that real quick!

well i ended up finding a program called avi mpeg asf wmv spiltter and it works wonderfully...it spilt a 966 meg mpeg file in less then 4 minutes!
