Ok, so i live int he dorms at my college, and use one of those MS combo wireless mouse keyboard packages. My mouse is out of batteries at the moment, so I have plugged in a USB optical mouse. However, since I'm using the keyboard, this thing is picking up interference from somewhere around here. It's annoying as hell. As I'm typing this thing, my cursor is posessed, and clicking stuff all over the place. I've had numerous windows close cuz my cursor moves itself to the corner and closes the damn thing.

Anyway, is there anyway I can disable the wireless mousing, without disabling the keyboard? This is pissing me off. Thanks everyone.
 
Isnt there a button you can press on the reciever as well as the keyboard that resyncs everything?

Usually it also changes the "channel" that the signal is sent out on.
 
You sure someone didn't install a trojan on your system? Sound suspicious that it's closed several windows so far at "random" that little X isn't a big target to hit randomly.
 
make sure nobody is running remote desktop or realvnc on your system and messing with your head. We did that in the dorms a few years ago. One guy brought home a girl and after they were alone in his room for a half hour his pc "mysteriously" started playing Marvin Gaye.............
