Mouse for lefties?

Well, I'm not really a lefty, but I do use the mouse with my left hand. And that's for everything, games, Photoshop, general computing...

(If you're wondering why, it's because when my dad got our first computer, he had the mouse on the left because HE is a lefty, and I simply learned to do it that way. I can use the mouse with my right hand when I need to, like at school or the library or basically ANYWHERE since the mouse is ALWAYS on the right, I just can't play games like that.)

Anyways, I use the Intellimouse Optical Explorer.

It works wonders, since it can be used comfortably with the left or right hand, and has plenty of buttons, which is nice. However, I've been wanting a change, yet the only kind of mouse I've seen are for both hands or the right one, never the left... I'm almost tempted to try a custom job, but I would have no idea where to start... Anyone know of a place/site that sells lefty mice?

(by the way, if you think playing lefthanded effects my gameplaying ability, let's hop on a CS Source server and I'll show just how fast my left hand is :eek: :D )
 
I just looked at that site lol. Left handed notebooks? Wtf? We read from left to right. Those would do good in a country that reads right to left. But this is an american site right? lol

It is indeed a 'merrikan site! And there's even more strange stuff there...like tape measures that read backwards? Still scratching on how that works...like if it's a 20 foot tape, does the end you pull out start at 20 feet and go DOWN from there?
 
Buy a Razer DiamondBack. They're designed to suit left handers just as much as right handers and have inbuilt drivers to configure it for either hand, plus there the best mouse available at the moment anyway so your not sacraficing any performance heh. Razer has always been friendly to lefties when it comes to mice.

I'm right-handed at puters and writing but when it comes to sports im left-handed all the way so i know how much of a bitch it can be finding equipment :p.

Do an experiment for me. Take a standard spiral notebook and try writing on the back side of a page. Feel that metal digging into your skin? Now, consider that most of the time, we just write on the front side of the page, which puts the spiral on the left.

I'm more than happy to pay extra for a left-handed notebook, or one of those spiral-less notebooks. It usually means the difference between a 50-cent notebook and a $2.00 one, but it's worth it.

Oh, and sorry for dragging this thread deeper into OT territory...
 
logitech's older "optical mouse" is what I use - works great (yes I mouse lefthanded) their new 300/310 series should also work well as a lefty. Logitech has multiple options (too many to list here) that can be used by either hand...
the one I use has been replaced with the "first wheel mouse" model - a very reasonable $9.95 suggested retail price...

My Frelling PC was acting up AGAIN, had to reboot AGAIN, so rather than Edit.
I was going suggest to look at Logitec also, I just wish they made a trackball (( the Trackman Marble FX, to be exact)), left handed, as I to do better on the pc with my left hand as well.

Razer DB is a good mouse for lefties!
I personally use MX510 + Icemat black(a very good combo!) IMHO logitech should think about a mouse suitable for lefties.
 
Um, its just a windows option to toggle between left and right handed. It just reverses the buttons, works on any mouse.. Look under mouse in the control panel.

I think the tape is probably just flipped so when a left hand person grabs it, its oriented the right way so they can read it.

Aaah...yeah that makes sense now that you say it. The numbers on the tape would be printed "upside down" if it were used by a righty, but right side up when pulled out to the left. Some smart peeps out there!
 
go left-handed gaming! i mouse w/either hand, but when it comes to gaming, i have to mouse left-handed cuz i'm missing my pinkie + ring finger on left hand. (gunpowder incident when 11). it doesn't affect my ability to mouse, but it's hard as heck to use two fingers on keyboard to move in three directions at once! i'll be checking out that logitech mouse...
