Mounting MCP 655

So I am about to install a swiftech mcp 655 in my coolermaster wavemaster case, and the only area I can find space for the pump will require it to be sitting on its side at an angle.

So my question is, will this effect the lifespan of the pump? Should I just move some drives around or possibly make my cdrom an external usb device?

Any input would be appriciated.
