hi,
im looking to upgrade my antec sonata to the next quiet case that is the best value. case should be under a 100 bucks medium ATX (w/ out psu).

get the lian li 7b plus II w/o the window. Last time i checked it has 120mm front and back for good air circulation, aluminum and very well built. I think they cost 89.99 + shipping/tax where applicable. Oh and get the black because i like black :)

why are aluminum cases more expensive? what qualities do they offer over steel? all those cases are just like the sonata II , i dont know at this point if it would be an upgrade or a downgrade lol.

Aluminum is lighter and generally better looking... If you don't care about weight/painted surfaces... then Steel is cheaper and just as strong.

Anodized aluminum (lian-li) isn't going to chip or scratch like paint... you have to physically damage the surface and dig past the ano layer for it show raw aluminum, but that's difficult to do...

The Centurion 5 is a great case, I built 10+ computers for friends with it, we got them very cheap off newegg... at the time I think it was $50 with a 350watt psu which was plenty for their computers... Even had windows :)
