Hi, i just recenty got a DVD burner, and i've got a regular DVD drive and a CD-R drive. To just quickly put the DVD-R in, i just unplugged my cd-r cables and put them into the dvdr. So what i wanna do is have all 3 in there. My current HD configuration is this, i have a 200 gig and a 40 gig on the same IDE cable, going in a PCI card, and the 2 optical drives going into slot 2 on the mobo. So i guess i'm wondering if i can just plug the cd-r in either slot 1 on my mobo, or on the other pci card slot, and would it all work fine? thanks

yeah, try it. it should work if your config is already set as harddrives to read from the PCI card

My setup is....
2 SCSI hard drives, OS & scrach disks.
2 SATA hard drives, games & data disks. Must add another big drive as backup.
Then 4 optical dives from my mobo's EIDE headers. Dvd rom & ram drives plus 2 cd-rw drives.
Just arrange them so you dont use two drives on the same channel at the same time if possible.

Luck...... :D
