More slower ram or less faster ram?

I have a strange ram situation for the time being, one 512 Mb stick of PC 2700 and a 256 Mb stick of PC 2100 . Which would work better for a game like half life 2, just 512 of PC 2700 or more ram (768 Mb) running at PC 2100? Would I even notice much difference?

2 Ghz P4 Processor
768 Mb RAM ( 256 PC 2100, 512 PC 2700)
Biostar P4VTB Mobo
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 Mb
40 Gb, 80 Gb, and 250 Gb HDD
Sony DRU-510a DVD±RW

try them both and see. chances are you will find out faster than we could tell ya. but in general, faster is better above an amount like 256. 512 is the absolute min

agreed, the 512 will probably be faster, but echomatrix has it down pat. test both. you tell us which works better, it is your system after all.

just try it both ways.. ram is the easiet thing to take out or put in...
