More CRC errors

Yesterday I posted about getting CRC errors while I was installing UT2K3. People suggested I use memtest, and I isolated the stick of RAM that was getting all of the errors. I put the good stick in and tried installing again and I still got the same errors. Is it possible the problem is with the disk? DO those disk dr. things reallly remove scratches, cause if the actually work they might help.
