Hello,

we have 4 Imac's on our network (gfx team) and i wish to monitor their cpu / ram usage to see how much they are used to to justify if they do need new systems, currently core 2 duo rigs with 4G of ram, 21 and 24' models, GFX guys jobs are the same as they were, designing mostly 2D GFX, but a new guy is doing flash work.

Is there something that can do this.....

is some form of snmp available?

You should be able to install Net-SNMP and just use cacti or Zenoss or whatever performance monitoring tool you use already to do this.

so far i only have lansweeper,. haven't set up anything else yet, but will check out those options, appreciated.

I am just getting my 2nd box set up to run OpenVAS so i could toss one of those on it.

snmp is already installed, at least on a standard 10.6 system. haven't checked 10.5 or earlier. Just have to tweak the /etc/snmpd.conf file and set launchctl to start snmp service on boot. pretty easy, i remember it took me about 20 minutes to configure my mac mini at home to provide snmp details for monitoring via rrdtool
