What is the easiest way to monitor your farm without using FTP?
I have tried KDView and EM3. I thought setting up a share and pointing to the work directory would work but the info does not refresh.

Does anyone know an easier to monitor the boxen in a Win2k/XP Pro environment from one machine?

It doesn't get much easier than EMIII.
Also, you should point EMIII to the folding directory, not the work directory.

EM will do more then 13, you just need to scroll a bit. It is by far the easiest to set up that I've seen and LPerry does a real nice job with the updates.

You can also send the results to a web page for easy monitoring.

Fold on:D

KDFold monitor asks for the work folder, EM just wants the Folder the client is in... the work folder has to be there if the client is going to work. ;)

EM won't monitor 1,000's of instances, but it will do 50 on a Win 95/98/ME machine, or 100 if EM is run on Win 2K/XP. ;)

The max you can view at a glance is 13... :)

Thanks, I finally got EM3 working at home & KDView here at work, I was just being retarded and not waiting long enough for the views to refresh.

Larry - You know I love your program and I do think it's the best. I just mentioned F@Hlogstats because sometimes I just need a simple tool that does a few things.
When are you going to:
Add the Java interface, the one that turns on my coffee pot.
Put in the Firealarm interface to warn when one is being passed by APOLLO
Add the "f%&king server down" modification to fire off G@H when the servers are not working ?

Keep up the great work!!

LOL - I knew you weren't dissin' my proggy... :D

Just wanted to make sure that no one thinks EM can only monitor just 13 instances. There are a couple of users who have to run two instances of EM so they can monitor more than 100 clients. ;)

I was thinking the other day that it might be nice to have a very simple farm monitoring tool, but I immediately came to my senses... no matter how many features I left out of it, LOL, I would be asked to put them all in... sans the skins... I would bet the bank on it. I really tried to find a happy medium. I wrote this program to help keep interest up and info flowing for FAH. The vast majority of users don't have more than a couple of computers running. I'm currently running only 4, 3 of which are duals, so I am monitoring 7 clients that run 24/7 ... I do use my own programs. ;) I may have the time one day to put together a farming monitor, but there are other programs that can do that to some degree. I try and keep links to all monitoring programs on the EM web site so that people who don't care for mine can have other choices without trying to search high and low for them. It isn't like I'm making money off EM... LOL ;)

Everyone just keep on foldin' and foldin' and ... you get the idea. :)
