Yeah, so i've been building this new computer, what a fucking wreck this shit is.

I have a barton 2500+ and a Biostar M7NCG 400 Mobo and a 512 stick of kingstom pc 2700 ram. Well, after solving a grounding issue, now I can't get my monitor to display any picture at all. The board has an integrated gforce 4. However, i put in my pci graphics card and i still get no signal. But, i plugged the monitor into another computer and it miraculously worked. Frankly, I'm pissed, and i have no fucking clue as to why i can't get a monitor signal. Maybe I need to reseat the processor? That's the only thing i can come up with. I used two different powersupplies....
 
Try going into the BIOS and disable the onboard video then set the PCI card as the default or first boot. :)

hows he gonna get into bios if the monitor isnt displaying anything? .... not to question your judgement or anything :D
 
Excellent question.....lemme know when you figure that one out :p

Try taking the MoBo out of the comp and lay it on a non-conductive surface and try to boot to make sure you weren't grounding against any traces before you replace it.....

Yeah, I did that. Still no signal. Hopefully replacing it will do the trick. If not, I'll be fucking pissed.
 
I've tried turning it on w/o a stick of ram in it, and I shoulda gotten beeps. Instead I got a really short beep. I looked it up and it basically says I fucked up my motherboard somehow. Oh well, good thing newegg has a good RMA policy
