Have currently a 19inch lcd gateway from 2002 (still runs amazing) but looking to give that to my mother probably, and buy a new LCD since I just got done building my new rig. Anyone have any ideas on some good LCD monitors with built in speakers? Preferably 19inch + . Do not have to be great quality speakers, just enough to listen to music and hear regular game sounds. I do not need surround sound maximum power etc. I do not wish to clutter my desk with more wires/3 pieces speaker system.

I thought I saw a dell one but can not find it on their site. So any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I can understand your desire to have a non-cluttered work space, but could I sugjest headphones? Because seriously, you'll get way better sound. Speakers that are attactched to monitors are good for playing windows sounds at best.
I know this doesn't directly answer your question, but looking at other options and broadening horizons isn't bad either is it?

I would agree, the monitor speakers will not be great at all, but if you aren't going to be listening to much music, or you are not a very picky person, they me be ok. I believe Dell has something they call a Sound Bar, you buy a monitor, and you can then buy speakers to mount on the underside of the monitor.

Here Is a view of the 2005FPW with the sound bar already installed.

Here is the Sound Bar itself.

I would consider getting at least a 2.1 sound system. It would be well worth it, even if you are running on-board sound. Heck, I bought a cheap 5.1 surround sound system for my on-board sound, and I am not complaining a bit! I love it!
