I am thinking of buying new 19inch or 20inch viewsonic monitor which have 1440 x 900 and 1680 x 1050 resolution respectively.

In my system MSI Geforce MX440 graphics card is installed which supports resolutions till 2048 x 1536 but none of the above mentioned resolutions are mentioned inside supported resolutions of graphics card. In that case my monitor will able to show those resolutions..? because in one of the recent post, I read that graphics card doesnt show those resolutions. So, please guide.

Under nvidia software.. i have seen the option of adding "Custom resolution and referesh rates" which allow to add any resolution.

But the point is... will this MSI Geforce MX440 graphics card allow to show the 1680 x 1050 resolution? anyone have definite answer.

On what basis you can say "Yes" , there is any support document for your answer. Because if you have written mistakenly, and i bought it then i have to bear a lot of loss. So, please confirm.

The first link is invalid.
If you're not sure if it'll support certain resolutions, I'd go to the nVidia website and look at the card there. All the info you need is there.:)

Sorry i fixed all the links.. and i search nvidia site and didnt find out any solution/answer of my question. so, looking answer from you experts.

Are you going to be using it with dvi or vga? Well in any case ofcourse it will support it. if the maximum resolution is 2048x1536 or something then why the hell wouldn't it?

because many GPU those are quite old dont have support for widescreen monitors, and that resolution will be supported or not, and i am not sure.

And i will be using VGA. As per the previous link they showed a support for those resolutions but for 98/me, so looking any support for XP users too.
