Heya Folks--

I'm in the market for some monitors. I'm currently sporting dual HP w2207's @ 1680x1050. I just upgraded to a Radeon 5850 and am looking to move on up to dual 24's.

I'm not necessarily particular about the panel types, but am definitely looking for monitors with consistent backlighting (not cloudy, not much light leakage etc). I will be mostly gaming but also watching movies and such. I do a fair amount of design work but not enough to merit the expensive IPS monitors out there. I am also looking ideally for thin bezels if there are some good ones out there. The nearly 1inch bezels on the w2207's are killing me.

I've been looking at the Samsung PX2370 which seemed interesting but am kinda torn on the design (no VESA mounts) as well as the reports of light leakage.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I'm looking to spend 700, but can move it up to 800 if I want to get a VESA stand.

In addition to the PX2370, I'm also looking at the Dell U2311H's. I've never had an IPS monitor so I'm curious about how apparent the response times are? Anyone have any experiences?

Having used both the PX2370 and u2311h I found the response time to not be significantly better. While with overdrive on, the PX2370 was faster, I didn't feel it was faster significantly enough to outweigh the merits of the u2311h. The real world usage is not as apparent as the still shot comparisons would lead you to believe. You're still going to get blurry text while panning with both screens for instance.

Keep in mind (since it seems like the stand is important to you), the u2311h stand can tilt/rotate/height adjust/pivot and has a simple cable management feature. The PX2370 while chic looking (though I found the glossiness somewhat annoying in certain situations) and better looking overall lacks in the functionality department.

Looking up reviews is your friend:

Samsung PX2370 (Don't get the PX it's overpriced and not that great) vs Acer G245H

Unfortunately therein lies my problem. I've been reading dozens of reviews, etc about the monitors. Almost all of them have reports of heavy backlight bleeding, or clouding, or blurring, etc. But are also in some places reported as being great monitors. Was looking to get some feedback from people to see if there were any monitors I should explicitly look at.
