I need some help. Just saturday I installed style XP. Everything was great, I loved the styles and the options. I picked a red maroonish color that was very dark. Sunday came and all seemed fine.

So I turn on my computer today and the boot screen was different (like I set it) but it was lighter, almost a red hue too it. SO I accepted it. But once in windows I could see too much of the background. As in I thought it was black but found out it was red.

I then thought GAMMA, ok so I reset all that to no avail. Then I tamper with the brightness and contrast buttons on the monitor, also to no avail. And now even website color is F***ing different, this site looks light brown. I also have a redish maroon border around my monitor now (like if I was to resize it)

So can someone help return the proper settings?

Are you saying the black border around the edge of the monitor isn't black, but maroon? And if you resized the image or had no signal going to the monitor it would be maroon where no image is being projected?

If so I'd say your monitor's got problems!

Take the monitor to a shop that repairs monitors.
A similar thing happened to a friend and all they had to do was re-solder some connections on a circuit. Good as new.

That is if it isn't just a calibration or video card problem.

If you can find a repair shop with free estimates, you have nothing to lose.

Check your monitor cable. If its kinked real bad or has a bent pin in the connector it can cause the type of color issues you are seeing. If it is affecting the area outside of your windows desktop its a hardware issue and all the software in the world wont' make a difference.

That software didnt fix it so I will need to have it repaired... My girl friends dad sold me the monitor and I havet talked to my girl friend in a long time cuz I guess I dont like her like that anymore, anyway I would ask him but it would be kind of odd... Ill have to bite the bullet I guess, thanks guys
