I isntalled the Catalyst 8.1 but did not have net frame 2.0 installed yet. I got a MOM.exe error on bootup. I installed netframe 2.0 and im still getting an error only its differnet now. What to do?
 
remove the cats completely, run Driver Cleaner afterwards, and reboot. Make sure you have the .net installed correctly, and then install the 8.1's again. See if that takes care of it.
 
Nothing like having your rig get pwned by an .exe called MOM.

I had it happen to me twice when I was using an ATi card under Win XP Pro x64. Both times the cause of it was a corrupted installation of .Net.
 
yeah I got it fixed shortly after I posted. Its lame the setup doesnt give you the option to cancel so you can install netframe first. I could have ended task i guess but it started installing the driver soon as I hit ok. Oh well.. ive been using nvidia for a long time but all the budget builds im using ATI cards. Its hard to beat them in their price range.
