I've been out of the hardware research game for a while - and I used to browse this forum so I respect its mindshare. Many reviews claim the latest Apple and Dell laptops are the fastest (and lightest). However, it isn't straightforward to see - for example - which SSD model Apple is using and how that compares to the RW speeds of other top-end laptops.
What do you think are the best laptops in 2016?
Factors that I'm interested in:
-- durability
-- performance
-- weight
If it turns out to be a non-mac, then I'll probably do Hackintosh or Linux. If it's a Mac, then I won't be running bootcamp/Windows. I currently use a fully loaded mid-2012 Macbook Pro.
Thoughts?
