I've been coming to HardOCP for well over 2 years now, but just decided to join the forum tonight. I have a couple questions, First I was saw a chenming case in here that I believe had plexi glass installed into the front panel that covers the rom drives. If someone can find that thread it would be most helpful. My next Question is how difficult would this mod be.

And if I decided I wanted someone to do it for me, are there any Canadian's in here that would do the mod for me for a fee.

I'm gonna pick up the chenming case probably this friday, and would really like to get a mod like this done.

My Specs

I did it to mine:

Sorry the pics are pretty crappy. But the mod itself is easy, just cut out the little notches that hold the plastic part on then just cut out some plexiglass the same size as it and glue that sucka on. Good luck!:)

Does anyone know where I can get a second bezel for this case. I would like to have one just incase I mess up this one.

Personally, I find using plain acrylic in a mod like this to be a bit, well, plain.

Maybe check out a shop like http://www.koolpcmods.com/ and have a custom etched window put in.

With some lighting, it could look really kickass.

Why did you do that to the front pannel? is there some kind of advantage this gives you? from the looks of it, you can't put in a floppy disk or open the cdrom unless u open the pannel.

IMO it looks nasty like that..but hey, whatever floats ur boat.

If you have an LCD on the front of your case you can't see it with the door closed ;)

For my purposes, I have a 6 knob Blue LED fan controller and A Vantec Nexus Multifuntion Panel. So a Window in the Bezel would look pretty nice. I would also have to paint my Rom Drives to match.

That is a very nice mod you did there looks good.

I also ran into space problems with closing the door and my Vantec multifunction panel at the top. I think I might have broken the top hinge on the door. LOL now I need a new door for sure.

I'm still kinda lost on what to do about a mod for the door. I don't really like how the green tower in the previous post looks with just the center piece missing. I was hoping for something alittle wider, which wouldn't interfere with the lock.

Comeon guys anyone want to make some money. I need a Door moded!!!!!

you can go buy some small hinges @ home depot for about $1.97

i put hinges on my side pannel so its a door now. Looks and works great.
