Looking to buy two new mobo's
I need two x58 boards for my i7's.

These will need to sustain high OC's at 100% for extended periods of time (read: 24/7x365)
So these boards need to have quality parts.

However they dont need to be feature rich by any stretch. They will not have HDDs, KBM, monitor, GPU.
Only CPU and RAM is going in this.

I am not opposed to buying used, refurbished or open box. I am all for saving money. Would prefer to spend less than $180 each.

I prefer Gigabyte Boards, just cause i am familiar with the BIOS but am not opposed to other Quality offerings.

If you have something to sell, feel free to PM me.

No offense, but this is the wrong place for this type of thread.

You should ask a mod or an admin to move it to the Distributed Computing FS/FT forum.

But im not asking for F@H advice. Im asking for help choosing hardware.
Which is what this forum is all about.

It really depends on how far you intend on overclocking your hardware.

EVGA generally makes good OC-friendly boards, though some higher-end Asus and Gigabyte boards (that cost over $260) contain good overclocking features.

Right but does a X58-ud5 have better power circuitry or OC features than a UD3

Yes. In Gigabyte's case, the higher numbers in the end usually indicate better features.

For 3.8Ghz, even the UD3R would do fine. ;) For 4.3Ghz, you may want the UD5 instead. :p
