i know you have to break the second to last l5 bridge but how? do i cut into it? it looks hard to do.. by the way i have tmc-xps and i plan on installing two mobles into my dual athlon mp board (a7m266-d) and overclocking them....

EDIT: I heard you can break it with a battery???? how??? thanks

bump... thats what i didnt want to hear... people break em all the time.. i just dont know how... im trying to break the power now off a moble cpu by breaking the second to last L5 bridge

amdmb.com for info?

anyways, best of luck! I think I saw that someone's 2500+ hit 2.7ghz the other day.. on air too!

You should have one hell of a system at that point..

It was my understanding that the AMD 761 and 762 Chipsets could not support barton cores....

being a non preformence board, it probely is not going to give you many voltages options, with will be a problem with the mobile chips, and may not unlock the CPU so your going to be just FSB overclcoking, and from experence the board will only do like 150-160 MAX.

looking futher into it, the baord only supports PC2100 with tell me it only supports 133FSB CPUs. This back my line on 150-160 Max FSB......

EDIT: A little google action, the onyl chips you can run are MPs or A palimino or lower CPU moded to a MP...The Tbreds and bartons dont do it. if you can find one still, the pally cores went up to 2200+ that is you best bet as it hase the highers multiplyer locked in, so you will get the most MHz when you add a higher FSB...Granted the pally are very shitty overclockers, I would think around 1.85Ghz tops on a 145Fsb.

...ohh yea they run hot as hell

default voltage for Mobile XP processors is 1.45V if I'm correct.

That isn't exactly high.

no but it mnay give problems on a board that only gives you pally voltages +and - of .5v

you can run tbreds and appalbreds AND bartons... it's just the realistically highest FSB you'll run is about 150 on a MP system... thus.. you need multiplier adjustments to keep the chip at stock speed ;P

And if your chip is the new substrate, you dont blow the bridges anymore... it'd be useful if you could get a pic of it... Generally, people cut the newer chips..

I remember someone over at the amdmb forums that modded the mobile 2400+ for a Dual system, I'll try to post a link later today (haven't slept yet) or you could try searching over there for it yourself.

hey thanks for your help.. Killa bee.. im using TMC-XP this lets you adjust the multi.. also i can get one to work but it does not work with both cpus in.. i think this means i have to cut the powernow bridge.. also i had one overlclocked to 2.2ghz :) just need to get 2 working now
