Hi, I have been having this quier problem with my laptop now for a week. WHen I first start up the laptop, from the word go the screen is corrupted (ie blocks of colour throughout the screen etc), even in the bios screen. When I restart the machine, it starts fine though now reports that the graphics card only has 32MB of ram instead of 64.

However, after the third restart it is back to normal with dxdiag, sandra and games reporting the correct amount of memory. Unfortuantly the last thing the company i bought the laptop from was to update the driver which did nothing - and now they have gone bust

Help:

You're SOL, most likely, sounds like a dead part...

That's why you buy name brand, Dell ain't gonna go out of business (I know that's no consolation). :(

Hi, thanks for the replay. Looks like I am just have to live with restarting the machine a few things to get it working :( though I thaught it would be strange that it would happen on a cold boot as opposed to when i reboot, say after playing games etc.
