I recieved my NB & SB coolers from MIPS today.

A little polishing will be in order but MIPS makes some nice blocks.

Please update with pics when installed.

Do you plan to have these in the aquaduct loop? I am interested to see how much heatload can be put on one before it starts to get hurt.

Currently the aquaduct is cooling two GTX's and the 360 is cooling the E6600. However, I just purchased a quadcore so I may change the configuration. Any thoughts?

See those MIPS blocks will hurt either loop, IHMO. I would say to keep the MIP's with the CPU (after of course). You must post some pics when done. Can't wait to see dual towers. Makes me want another 360XT for my R600's. ;)

I do not have dual towers, at least not yet! I have the aquaduct and the aquaextreme 360.
I have considered a second aquaduct but you can only hide so much. I am actually reconsidering the MIPS blocks as this MB stays relatively cool even with the OC. I may have to rethink all of this once my QX is installed next week:D

BTW, my wife asked if I could install an aquaducton on her mac pro!

Hey theseeker.. Where can I buy those mips waterblocks? I have been searching HI and LOW for those things.. I can't find them ANYWHERE in the USA. I'd love to buy some if you have a link.

If you are from the US, how much was shipping for those? (assuming they came from Europe)

Well then, thats out the window.. LOL. I love your MIPS blocks but I am not gonna be ordering anything out of the USA. When you posted that, I was sooo disappointed. So disappointed in fact, that I went out and "settled" for two Swiftech MCP30 chipset blocks (with the revised "hard mount"). I couldn't pass that deal up.. Both blocks + shipping = 59 bucks. Oh well.

I am having to buy things here and there as I am about to undertake another build. I gutted my Lian Li case within a hour of receiving it. I found some Lian Li look alike modders mesh so I bought some of that to go with the Lian Li PC-7A case and Asetek Vapochill Lightspeed that I purchased last week.

Anyways, I wish performance-pcs.com, frozencpu.com, petrastechshop.com, jab-tech.com or any other well known custom pc website based in the USA would import / carry the MIPS line.. They have some good stuff.

I installed these blocks about six weeks ago and they are excellent! I am happy to report the temps are now 32C under load with very little fluctuation if any. I highly recommend MIPS and they will work with high or low flow.

Perhaps it is the pics, but I think those blocks are butt ugly. :( The machining on them appears to be 3rd world in quality.

Actually the build quality and the machining is top notch, yes they do require a bit of polishing, but they work very well.

So what is all that stuff that looks like milling chatter on the first pic?

TN, You of all WC people should know that there is always a bit of DIY involved. It took me all of ten minutes to lap these blocks. The overall quality is excellent and the results are outstanding.

Yeah, even AC blocks need lapping. ;) So let's see some pics!

Edit: Ahh how about using the macro feature?

They've got a bit of an industrial type charm to them. Hmm, difficult to describe. They look like machinery, zero bling, but I'd imagine if you sanded all the rough edges away etc they'd look pretty decent. They do look pretty basic though, as if they weren't interested in getting the best performance from the blocks, only interested in sufficiently cooling the parts. But looks can be deceptive.
