shortly after installing my new video card i noticed it as i pumped up the resolutions on games

the problem is that i somehow get a small as i would call "echo" to the right of everything on my screen its no big uber style problem but it irritates me and it gets worse on higher resolutions as my chroshair seems to have a slightly noticeable twin

i am on some old second hand 19" daewoo 901d moniter and can pump up to 1600x1200 (at this resolution it really becomes noticable) and as it is not a video card maulfunction i cant excatly print screen the problem but if anyone else has had this kind of problem before please could you shed some light and wisdom......is it just the way it is or will it pop like my other moniter did in a months time?(i almost got an electric shock from the power button on that damm thing before it clonked out)

thanks in advance

This sounds like an interference problem. Try isolating the video cable by moving it as far away from any power cords as possible. Also, try pluging the computer and monitor into electrical outlets that are on seperate circuit breakers. Let me know if this has any impact.

Seems like a lot of work, considering all the plugs in one room are usually on the same circuit. Therefore, wouldnt he have to plug his monitor in the bathroom or any other adjacent - yet unrelated room?

Depending on the house/room, yes, he might have to grab an extention cord and use an outlet in another room. However, my suggestion was not meant to be a permanent solution; just one step to take to try to identify the source of the problem.

Try using a different plug in the wall somewhere else in the room, get an extension cable just to check and see if this is actually the problem and do what people said above.

tryed "isolating" the cable from all others....nothing
tryed using next doors power.....nope
any chance of it being the video cable in general?
any more ideas?
