It's been a while since I've been actively folding. But when I did, MidnightFreak was one of the top folders, now he's a casualty?!? Just curious what happened.
 
I took a bit of a hiatis from my job, and in turn lost all my boxen. At home I had just my pc on dial-up, so I just didn't bother folding because I only had it on maybe 3 hours a day. But I'm back, folding on 3 workstations and soon to be more :)

I assume you have a job now?

Three modern workstations will kick out some good points.




 
Well, my memeory of the exact details are a little fuzzy but it was something along the lines of this. Not everyone was willing to bow down and kiss the ass of the almighty folder midnightfreak and he wasn't allowed to take over the forum or the IRC channel like he thought he should be able to. So he put up a huge (at the time) score and said "I will always be #1 on the team." and then he was gone. No other person that has ever held the #1 spot (or any spot for that matter) on the [H] has had a ego to match the one he had.

Wow, I can see climbing to top spot being addicting, but that's something else.... That's to bad we lost the contribution.

I kind of have my old job again, but the workstations I have right now are 3.4ghrz P4 1GB of RAM, 2.8ghrz P4 512MB of RAM and a 2.6ghrz P4 with 512MB of RAM. I should be moving to a new place too, so I'll have a couple more machines folding.

No one knows, He can't tell, and we are all thrilled he resides here with us :)

Odd that you started a Midnight Freak thread the same day that I actually posted his name in the "Hit a Folding Milestone" thread. He had prety much already left when I started folding and my goal was always to bypass him :) Halfway there and gaining ground quickly :)

Wow, that is Odd, I checked the stats last week, I noticed then he was a casualty. I checked the stats again today and was just curious. I'm hoping that I can get past all the skulls near my ranking soon :D I feel a bit alone....
 
Lol Killer... Well this was before my time but I heard things of that nature too...

Well, I think Moose has his ego matched at least if that counts!

It's too bad, but near as I can tell anything folding releated, points wise, is not transferable to the real world... at least as far as I can tell.

Well, I still got him to post after all that so "nanna na na naaanna" (sp?).

I never knew of him so I've got nothing first hand to say either way. Bear in mind than anything based on BillR and KillerMOB might be subject to....well....a sanity check at least! :D

One thing I found interesting is nobody overtook his score for ~ 18 months I was here then wham the poor guy is in like 9th place now. The scoreing system is fucked to say the least from MF days.
 
I'm folding fools. You better watch out I'll be #1. Yeah, I don't see that happening in my lifetime. :D

You can say that again. The first 2 yrs I only got 75000 pts with 2 fairly high end oc'd boxes. Got 300k in the last 2 yrs since, and one of the original 2 is still folding strong. :cool:
