Microsoft has now confirmed that it has fired Chief Information Officer Stuart Scott for violation of company policies.

"We can confirm that Stuart Scott was terminated after an investigation for violation of company policies," a Microsoft representative said in an e-mailed statement. Microsoft said that two executives--General Manager Shahla Aly and Corporate Vice President Alain Crozier--will assume Scott's responsibilities until a replacement is identified.

Wonder how many figured he got when he was fired. Most people get fired and get nothing. A CIO/CEO/President/VP.. gets fired and they get about $54 million or more along with their pink slip.

Actually the rumor is that he was fired for having an affair with a co-worker and giving her a promotion.

Apparently the woman's job performance didn't warrant the promotion and the company figured things out when they both took a family leave around the same time.

Many people who continue to abuse the system have been silently canned for reselling software they bought at the campus stores.
 
Wow, so he gets a few million for getting fired? I'm glad I paid for his discharge when I bought Vista.
