Earlier today there were reports that MS was trying to patent software based on a programming environment called BlueJ that was designed by a university professor. Microsoft says it was a mistake to seek a patent and has since withdrawn the application.

BlueJ creator Michael Kölling complained of a Microsoft patent application on Friday on his blog. By Sunday, Dan Fernandez, lead product manager of Microsoft's Visual Studio Express, apologized and said the company is changing course.

They were hoping he wouldnt notice and that through some loophole they would get ownership of that patent.

So you folks finally notice what a fishy company Microsoft is?

I have no doubt a legit review of ALL MSoft patents would lead to a flood of invalidations for "obvious under the art" or existing in prior art.

The patent system is a disaster and a blatent field of theft by corporations in all feilds.

A house cleaning is called for.

Sucks when reality interferes with fantasy. Oh well, there's still a lot of other things to patent that likely the original creator won't notice.
