micro fly or v300?

my rig is getting a bit toasty now that summer is nearly here. also, my year old xqpack is a little beat up. i have considered and rejected the q-micro and sg01 already. i need a some more ventilation and a bit more room than the qpack (see sig for spex). it sits next to 32" stv now, but looks arent that important. the micro fly is $59 at performance pc. is the lian li worth the extra $50 ?

I would think the Microfly would only give you a few degrees difference over the Qpack. I'd say try getting a zalman 7700, or 7000 and making the 120mm Fan and Intake. You should get great temps.

I personally have been eyeing the V300 its sexy looking and will allow for tons of great mods

TigerDirect has the Micro Fly for 50 bucks. Hard to say if it is "worth it". Do you like the Qpack? If so, you will love the MF. It is a bit longer and the paint job is nicer (although it stratches easily).

i am using a zalman 7000b. i do turn the 120mm around to intake in the warm months. worked ok last year, but this year i have a hotter running mobo (rs482 infinity), hotter running vid card, higher vcore(1.52) and hotter running cpu(opty 144) and an extra hd. i think the 80mm intake fan on the micro fly would make a big difference, as opposed to the zero mm intake fan on the qpack. i am just wondering if the looks/quality/style/cooling/layout of the v300 is worth $50 or $60 more than the micro fly?

i have no plans to carry it around with me, so the weight and/or the handle on the micro fly is of no importantance.

I hate judging looks...I don't like the look of the PC-V300 but I can easily see how someone would find it attractive. When I do reviews I keep this in mind and never use my own personal view. As for the quality...the PC-V300 will be better..it costs more.

The layout...well, the fact that it can't hold a 9" video card is a bit frustrated but thats the only downside...the both fit heatsinks about the same.

Cooling is hard to say as the review didn't do any tests.

yeah, if the end of this month comes around and shuttle still hasn't released a new bios for the sn21g5, i'm probably gonna get a v300 + rs482. gonna run me a bit more expensive, but then at least this way i can keep the case across platform changes, which i wouldnt be able to do with shuttle. i'm gonna have to see if i can see one in person before buying, though, as im sure the pictures dont do it justice.

a little off topic: is the rs482 still the best matx board? in terms of stability + oc ability, and i waint integrated dvi are there any bugs or other problems with it bios- or hardware-wise?

The new Jetway board has integrated DVI and is based on the Nvidia 6100 chipset.

If you dont have a problem cutting the bar of fthe MicroFly I'm sure you can fit a Zalman 9500... Right now mine is running with the TT Typhoon looks sexy but cramped and the temp under the heatsink that it reports is 38C(in the core its prolly +10C) ambient temp of 81-87F in my room.. (81in my AC and 87 in the fan)
CPU is a P4 1.6 tho so I guess itll be higher if you have newer CPU..
