Memtest86 without CD or floppy?

I don't have a CD burner or floppy drive on this comp and mounting the image didn't seem to work. Am I doing it correctly, or what? I've mounted the memtest.iso and it didn't do anything except lead me to the boot folder.

Its a bootable image, you're going to need some sort of removeable drive on that thing.

C'mon, cdroms are like $10...

I'm gonna get a DL burner for Xmas so there's no sense in buying a burner now. Will a USB key work?

good idea - use a USB key. but yes, like Jerunk said, your bios has to support booting from USB devices. a USB floppy drive would be another option. i have one that came with my laptop, and i use it once in a while. could be cheaper than a mid-range USB key. but do check if your BIOS supports USB boot first.
 
why dont you borrow someones floppy drive or have a friend burn you a cd
