I keep getting this error on XP,

I know this is some sort of overflow error because I used to get this same errors whenever I wrote a C program which accesed a NULL direction...
Any idea why this happens?
I have done a number of formats and fresh reinstalls in this box. And this happened since the last install...
My box has xp Home sp1. The error happens often when using leechget and lately when using a dsp stacker plugin on winamp. I also had virtual dub crash...
