Memory suggestions for AMD64 3000+

I'm in the process of building an AMD64 rig, with either a 3000+ or a 3200+. Haven't decided yet.

I was wondering what the [H]people would suggest memory wise. I'd like to go with DDR4000 (500Mhz) 512-1G of RAM, and have always used Kingston ValueRAM and Corsair memory for past systems.

I'd like DDR4000 so I can OC and not have to worry about the RAM, and just in case I decided to build a better system in a 6-10 months.

Also, I've seen people say that the NF3-250 will add Dual Channel back to the AMD64 processors, is this true?

I think you mean, PC-4000 and DDR500? (or at least I think thats how its supposed to be)

If you like kingston and corsair go with one of them, I don't know off the top of my head if they make PC- 4000 but mushkin is also extremely good memory.

The memory controlor is built into the processor. So no matter what the current chips will only support single channlel.

And they don't overclock that well...so save your money and get ddr400

Dont buy PC4000 for any processor. It doesn't matter how well it overclocks. PC4000 is junk. The timings are horrible. Stick with memory that can run at least 2-3-2-5. Timings are what gaming performance is all about. Giving it more bandwidth wont increase your gaming performance.

The A64 has an on-die memory controller so motherboards can't add dual channel support. They have said they will add dual channel to the socket 939 A64's so thats probably what you were thinking.

For RAM i would get Mushkin PC3200 lvl 1. You can get a gig for around $213. Mushkin is the best as far as memory goes. I dont think you'll need to worry about the memory with OC'ing cause the A64's dont overclock very well.

Mushkin, consair, or kinston is fine. PC3200 or PC3500 should be good enough. Get one with better timing.

If you're not going to be doing too much overclocking and you're on a budget, you can try kingmax memory. The PCB is red and its only 73 dollars or so per 512 mb stick.
