Hello members of [H],

i am purchasing some new parts and wondered about the relation of memory and CPU speed.

parts:
X38 asus maximus
Intel e8400
OCZ Reaper 2x2 GB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227267)

question: will the memory be able to pull of the following:

mem : cpu = 1:1 ratio
CPU is 9 clocked and i want target 450FSB = ~4GHZ
the memory is rated ddr2 800 mhz...

as for cooling: NB & CPU is cooled via water and ram is cooled by a 120 fan.

No less than 2.1 v and i highly doubt u'd be able to do it on a 1:1

High FSB in the order of 500+ are very much possible with your setup..

Keep in mind that higher FSB's no longer relate to a better performance for C2D's and C2Q's. The fastest running core is the best option. High FSB's may also need higher voltages for the motherboard and can shorten component life.

For example in my case i am running default voltages for all motherboard options and only core is 1.48v @ 3.3GHz. Instead of 11(default multiplier) x 300 FSB I dropped the multiplier to 10 with 330 FSB .. for 3.3GHz ... all within spec for my board (max 333FSB).

SO i guess you have to strike a balance ...
